Taiwan Professional Baseball

I finally went to my first Taiwan Professional Baseball game.  I wanted to go to a game for several years but never did for several reasons; logistics, lack of information in English, no friends interested in going. The opening of the new MRT Airport line  solved the logistics problem as there is a stop at the Taoyuan Baseball Stadium.  I found some good information in English about the baseball schedules. Since no friends were interested I went alone.

There are only 4 teams in the league.  The games are played at different stadiums and in different areas of Taiwan.

The big difference that I found while attending the game was the cheerleaders, crowd involvement, special effects and sound level.  It was so loud that I used ear plugs.  If the home team hits a home run they have some fireworks.  There are some other effects like smoke and fire that get your attention.

The cheerleaders get the crowed pumped and depending on where you sit play a major role.  Check out the short video and you can see.
