Hiking Jiufen to Houtong (Siaocukeng Ancient Foot Path)

Jiufen and Houtong are great destination points. Jiufen has the famous old street and Houtong has the Ecological Coal Mine Park and Cat Village.  On the map they look so far apart and there is no direct way to get between the two villages unless you walk.  Jiufen is at a higher elevation than Houtong so the hike from Jiufen to Houtong is much easier because after the incline at the start the of trail it is all down hill.  The start of the trail is a few hundred meters beyond the end of the Jiufen old street.
