Wufuyang Sock Museum

I just went to the Wufuyang Sock Museum and it knocked my socks off. I never heard of a sock museum and didn’t expect much but I was really surprised. The museum just opened in November 2013. It is very English friendly. I learned a lot about socks. They had a DIY (do it yourself) sock making project that was a lot of fun and a very educational experience. I was able to get through it even though the teacher didn’t speak a lot of English. For me it was a great experience to make a pair of socks.

After the project I met Hannah Tam whose English is perfect. She explained a lot about the museum to me and answered my questions. I mentioned to her that I like to hike and she picked out a pair of socks for me that should be well suited to hiking. They are a special bamboo charcoal fabric that wicks away moisture and absorbs odor. It also has a shock absorbing cushioned sole and enhanced arch support.

The entrance fee of $100 NTD can be used toward any purchase. The DIY project was $250 NTD. That is a very reasonable price considering that you are using their equipment, have a teacher and you get to keep the socks you make. I highly recommend this museum and it is a great educational experience for children and adults.

Check out their website for more information. http://wufuyang.webg.tw/en/visit.php

Enjoy the photos and video.
