Scooter Driving in the Rain

If you live in the USA and you are old enough to remember the motorcycle daredevil Evil Knievel you may have heard him say “Even I don’t drive in the rain.”   I took that quote to heart and I try not to drive in the rain.  However in Taiwan many people don’t have a choice and since it rains so often driving in the rain is just a reality of life.

I don’t like to drive on bridges, just a personal hang up of mine.  Lucky that some bridges in Taiwan have a separate scooter lane.  Being separated from cars, trucks and buses is a plus.

I was in a bus 4 rows back but I still got a few decent photos of some scooter driving that I found interesting.  There are 4 things that I want to point out 1. the scooters are driving on bridge,  2. they are driving in the rain, 3.  look at how close they are driving, 4. this isn’t Taipei, it is more crowded there.

I don’t like driving in crowds, on bridges, in the rain….but combine them all together and this type of driving is not for the faint of heart or the unskilled.  I was so happy to be in the bus.
